Etapa de unos 19 kilómetros. Bonita y tranquila. Pocas subidas o bajadas. La entrada a Sarria la hacemos por un camino paralelo a la carretera. Hay muchas aldeas y poblaciones con servicios en el camino. En Sanxil nos juntamos con los que vienen haciendo la etapa pasando por Samos, que es más larga y con más asfalto, sobre todo a la salida. Conociendo ambas rutas, puedo valorar que es más bonita y corta la de Sanxil.

Samos tiene de interesante el Monasterio pero a la hora que pasamos los peregrinos la visita al recinto está cerrada. Estas imágenes hechas en 2015 muestran el Monasterio de Samos llegando por la otra ruta alternativa. En esta ocasión me quedé a dormir en Samos.

El paisaje que nos rodea en el trayecto es espectacular en primavera y el único problema es el firme por el que vamos en caso de haber llovido días atrás o con lluvia porque se acumula el agua en el camino y hay barro que dificulta el peregrinaje.

Salí de Triacastela después del desayuno en Casa Lemos, que por cierto es muy económico y completo. La sala que tienen habilitada es espaciosa y está todo muy bien presentado. Suele haber una persona de la casa en el comedor del desayuno para ayudarte con lo que necesites.

A la llegada a Sarria ya sabía que tenía que dejar de seguir las señales amarillas para llegar a HOTEL MAR DEL PLATA.

Normalmente nos dirigen por el interior de la población, dando un importante rodeo y conocer mejor el lugar antes de llegar a nuestro lugar de descanso, sea albergue, hostal, pensión u hotel.

El Río Sarria atraviesa la Ciudad y hay un paseo con terrazas y bares donde quedarse a ver cómo llegan los peregrinos. Además está en una zona con calles y avenidas llenas de tiendas que atraen a lugareños y peregrinos. Un amplio abanico de opciones dónde comer, porque Sarria existe por y para el peregrinaje. Farmacias, centros médicos, tiendas de deporte, colmados etc., por lo que el paseo de tarde es agradable y distraído. También tiene Iglesias, Convento, Parroquia y un Monasterio-albergue.

Precisamente, para llegar hasta el Monasterio de La Magdalena se recorre el casco antiguo por una calle empinada en la que hay muchísimos albergues y por ello, mucho ambiente. También es el camino de salida de la etapa siguiente.

Al llegar al Hotel Mar del Plata ya tenía la habitación preparada y después de una necesaria ducha me dispuse a bajar al comedor para deleitar su cocina. El personal es amable y servicial. La relación calidad-precio es extraordinaria. También cené en mi hotel, pero en la cafetería donde me sirvieron un delicioso sándwich, a mi gusto, con un buen vino. Me hicieron sentir como en casa. Siempre son muy atentos y no es solo conmigo. El comedor no es de uso exclusivo para clientes del Hotel y siempre hay comensales lugareños. La carta es muy amplia y los productos que ofrecen son de proximidad en su mayoría. La peculiaridad y lo que más me atrae del Restaurante es que puedes ver la cocina y cómo elaboran los platos desde el mismo comedor. Esto te da una garantía de entrada que no ves en otros Restaurantes.

The quality-price ratio is extraordinary. I also dined at my hotel, but in the cafeteria where they served me a delicious sandwich, to my liking, with a good wine. They made me feel at home. They are always very attentive and it’s not just me. The dining room is not for the exclusive use of Hotel guests and there are always local diners. The menu is very broad and the products they offer are mostly local. The peculiarity and what attracts me most of the restaurant is that you can see the kitchen and how they make the dishes from the dining room. This gives you an entry guarantee that you do not see in other restaurants.
