Última etapa, ultimo día de peregrinaje a Santiago de Compostela. El día de hoy promete ser un día emocionante, lleno de sentimientos contrastados. Año tras año la llegada a la Catedral se hace cuesta arriba y no por el firme por donde andamos los peregrinos, sino por la sensación de que acaba un camino largo y hay vuelta atrás. En realidad, no se quiere acabar el camino, no se quiere empezar a olvidar, porque todos sabemos que, una vez finalizado este peregrinaje regresamos a casa, a la rutina y al día a día que nos volverá a transformar en lo que éramos. Aunque somos quienes somos, estos días nos hemos podido conocer mejor a nosotros mismos así como las historias de otros peregrinos que han caminado  cerca de nosotros y que a cada paso les hemos ido distinguiendo de los demás.

Last stage, last day of pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela. Today promises to be an exciting day, full of contrasted feelings. Year after year the arrival to the Cathedral is done uphill and not by the firm where we walk the pilgrims, but by the sensation that ends a long road and there are back. Actually, we do not want to end the road, we do not want to start forgetting, because we all know that, once this pilgrimage is over, we return home, to the routine and to the day to day that will transform us again into what we were. Although we are who we are, these days we have been able to know ourselves better, as well as the stories of other pilgrims who have walked close to us and who have been distinguishing ourselves from others at every step.

Es un día de introspección, de asimilar pensamientos que han venido a nosotros desde lo más profundo de nuestro corazón. Acompañados o en soledad, las vivencias se comparten,y este conocimiento nos lleva a saber que el peso de la mochila que lleva el que va delante y que parecía pesar menos que la tuya,  es la que más pesa en realidad. 

It is a day of introspection, of assimilating thoughts that have come to us from the depths of our heart. Accompanied or in solitude, the experiences are shared, and this knowledge leads us to know that the weight of the backpack that carries the one that goes ahead and that seemed to weigh less than yours, is the one that weighs the most.

Hoy llueva o haga sol, no mires la previsión meteorológica. Hoy llueva o haga sol debes avanzar paso a paso hasta llegar a la Catedral. Es la meta que te has fijado al empezar esta andadura y debes hacerlo, con o sin palos, gorra o mochila….. (pero no olvides la credencial).

Rain or shine today, do not look at the weather forecast. Today rain or shine you must advance step by step until you reach the Cathedral. It is the goal that you have set at the beginning of this journey and you must do it, with or without sticks, hat or backpack ….. (but do not forget the credential).

Esta etapa tiene 20 km.

Anda paso a paso, el tiempo se convierte en pasos. Los pasos son minutos que corren a tu favor si sabes andarlos con firmeza, seguro de que al final está la meta.

This stage is 20 km.
Walk step by step, time becomes steps. The steps are minutes that run in your favor if you know how to walk them firmly, sure that in the end is the goal.

Atravesaremos un bosque frondoso que huele a eucaliptos, llueva o haga sol, pasando por la última Ermita o Iglesia antes de vislumbrar la Catedral ya en Santiago de Compostela; subiremos una pequeña colina, el Monte del Gozo, para bajar paso a paso y acceder entre calles y avenidas al monumental casco antiguo de esta maravillosa Ciudad.

We will cross a leafy forest that smells of eucalyptus, rain or shine, passing through the last Chapel or Church before glimpsing the Cathedral and in Santiago de Compostela; We will ascend a small hill, the Monte del Gozo, to descend step by step and access between streets and avenues to the monumental old town of this wonderful city.
