Etapa corta, de unos 16 km. Paisaje riojano, empapado de vid y árboles frutales. Dejamos Navarrete, de tradición alfarera, pasando por Ventosa y Altos de Antón que ceden el listón al Valle del río Najerilla.

Short stage, about 16 km. Landscape riojano, soaked with vine and fruit trees. We leave Navarrete, of pottery tradition, passing by Ventosa and Anton’s Heights that yield the ribbon to the Valley of the Najerilla river.

De los restos del antiguo Hospital de San Juan de Arce, a la entrada de Navarrete, encontramos en su salida la puerta que se conserva junto al cementerio.  Y de inmediato, por carretera nos alejamos de esta localidad para caminar por unas pistas de tierra rojiza y rodeado, todo el camino, de campos de vid. La única población que dejaremos a nuestra derecha, Ventosa, nos permite hacer una parada técnica para abastecernos.

And immediately, by road we move away from this town to walk along a reddish dirt track and surrounded, all the way, vine fields. Para esta etapa, hay que calzar la bamba transpirable, llevar buena provisión de agua y protector solar, en caso de buen tiempo. Mayo suele tener temperaturas altas y si se da el caso, la falta de árboles que den sombra, hace la etapa muy calurosa.

Como siempre, antes de salir hay que consultar el parte meteorológico para el día de hoy y meter en la mochila, antes de cerrar la maleta, las cosas necesarias.

Importante llevar palos, la credencial y la capelina (si va a llover).
